Drown in living comfort,

patronize the walking dead,

safe behind these walls we mind our own

so be it on our heads.

Tokenize the blurry headlines

counting coins, hypothesizing

when will all this dreary policy

be done?

Oh, time will tell,

and just as well.

See the worried world beneath you

just a quarried honeycomb

from which the sweetest nectar seeps

between your toes.

Consumed, and still consuming

with no fear of retribution.

It’s a silent call to judgment

of our own.

Yes, time will tell,

and just as well.

Take a page from yesterday

and read between the faded lines,

beyond the palest of compare

it’s all the same.

Still running round in circles,

keeping score, cause you’ve got

everything to lose when you’ve made

everything a game.

Are you counting on the silence?

On the nothingness beyond

to render all your simple sins

dead and forgotten?

You can paint a perfect picture

of what lies within your veins

but deep down at your bloody core

it’s all gone rotten.

And time will tell.

Just as well.

Yes, time will tell,

and just as well.
